Comedian Adam Carolla mocked congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) and Ilhan Omar as some of the “most privileged people” on the planet following their arrests outside the Supreme Court earlier this week.
Omar and Ocasio-Cortez were part of a group of 17 lawmakers arrested at the protest over the Court overturning Roe v. Wade.
Their actions, however, stood out amongst their peers as they seemingly simulated being handcuffed as they were led away even though Capitol police have confirmed – via fact-checker, Snopes – that nobody involved in the incident was handcuffed, “as is standard for a noncustodial arrest.”
While the arrests were confirmed, Twitter had a field day with the political theater on the part of the Squad members.

Carolla Says of Arrests, AOC and Omar Are Always Casting Themselves as Martyrs
In an interview with Fox Business, Carolla was asked if he owns a pair of “invisible handcuffs” himself.
“No, I think only Wonder Woman has those,” he quipped.
The comedian then unleashed on AOC and Omar for their performance art during the arrests.
“It’s insane how these women, who are amongst the most privileged people not only in the United States, but in the planet and on the planet, have to turn themselves into martyrs,” Carolla said.
“They’re constantly talking about the threats, and they were attacked,” he continued, “and they’re essentially making themselves martyrs when it doesn’t exist in the country.”
Carolla wasn’t done by any stretch, describing the duo’s actions variously throughout the segment as “despicable” and “immature” while accusing AOC and Omar of being “horrible people” for how the arrests played out.
“Like, ‘I live in the greatest country in the world, I’m in a great position and I’m going to constantly count myself among the oppressed,’” he added.

Tears of a Clown
AOC is little more than a wannabe actress who happens to serve part-time in Congress. And yes, as Carolla suggests, she is always casting herself as a martyr for whatever cause du jour happens to be playing out.
Who could possibly forget the photos that emerged of the New York Democrat at the border, dressed in all white and slumped over at the horror she was witnessing?
I’ll never forget this, because it was the moment I saw with my own eyes that the America I love was becoming a nation that steals refugee children from their parents,& caged them.
More kids died after this. To date, no one has been held accountable.
We need to save these kids. https://t.co/HhdMqc5zML

Performance art.
Side note – 15,271 unaccompanied children were apprehended at the border last month and AOC didn’t dry clean that suit and head on down there to take a gander.
Just last month, Ocasio-Cortez posted a video in which she appeared to have tears welling up in her eyes as she became visibly upset about having to “relive” the events of the January 6th Capitol riot.
And why not, she was almost murdered that day.
I am happy to work with Republicans on this issue where there’s common ground, but you almost had me murdered 3 weeks ago so you can sit this one out.
Happy to work w/ almost any other GOP that aren’t trying to get me killed.
In the meantime if you want to help, you can resign. https://t.co/4mVREbaqqm

AOC has defended her actions during the arrest at the lawmakers’ Supreme Court insurrection protests suggesting it’s common knowledge that you’re supposed to put your hands behind your back while being led away by police officers.
“No faking here,” she wrote on Twitter. “Putting your hands behind your back is a best practice while detained, handcuffed or not, to avoid escalating charges like resisting arrest.”

But given how you lied about a fellow rape survivor for “points,” as you put it to me, I don’t expect much else from you. pic.twitter.com/lUc1TPS21D

One could buy that excuse if say she hadn’t raised her clenched fist seconds into her perp walk away from the area.
Idk. Here you are @aoc breaking your fake handcuff pose for a good fist pump and shout out to the crowd – looking “tough”! Good theater though… ????????????♀️???? https://t.co/0kfihuevYa pic.twitter.com/68rjopkdMi

‘Best practice’ lasted all of 5 seconds it would seem. Odd, based on the congresswoman’s own statement, Capitol Police should now be able to charge her with resisting arrest.
The reality here is that the police confirmed the arrests, but AOC most certainly engaged in juvenile street theater when she very clearly pretended to be handcuffed.
Why? Because she has the self-absorbed mentality of a celebrity diva. She didn’t grow up from that emotional stage and seemingly never will.
