Apple’s MacBook Air M2 is finally up for pre-order, and the base model should sell out fairly quickly. Weighing just 2.7-pounds and measuring only 11.3mm thick, the laptop still features a dedicated charging port, two Thunderbolt ports for connecting a variety of accessories, as well as a 3.5 mm audio jack with support for high-impedance headphones.
You also get a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display expanded closer to the sides with 500 nits of brightness, a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, a four-speaker sound system completely integrated between the keyboard and display, along with a three-mic array for capturing clean audio using advanced beamforming algorithms. The 8-core M2 CPU can be paired with up to a 10-core GPU, so content creators will be able to get more done without needing MacBook Pro-like power. This means that you’ll be able to edit complex timelines in Final Cut Pro nearly 40% faster than its predecessor, and up to 15-times faster for those who haven’t yet upgraded to Apple silicon. Check it out here.
The M2 chip starts the next generation of Apple silicon for the Mac, taking the breakthrough performance, power efficiency, and capabilities of M1 even further. From multitasking to creating captivating images, MacBook Air with M2 is everything users could want in the world’s best-selling notebook,” said Apple.
