This 2D Version of Sonic Frontiers Would Have Been Great on the SEGA Genesis
Sonic Frontiers is a 3D platformer and action-adventure game, but what if SEGA released it on the Genesis / Mega Drive back in the day? Wonder no more as a dedicated fan has created a 2D version of Sonic Frontiers that shows us just that and it even includes some of the new gameplay features in the upcoming 3D version.

In addition to running at high speeds, collecting rings, grinding on rails, and attacking enemies, players can also double jump, sidestep, as well as boost their speed if they have enough energy. Some of the new abilities include combat attacks, running alongside walls, and generating a circle of light around objects by using the Cyloop. The controls can be customized to adjust Sonic’s speed, turning, acceleration, and resistance. Download it here now.
