Your eyes aren’t playing tricks, someone photographed id Software’s DOOM game running on a touchscreen McDonald’s kiosk, but before you consider this to be a Photoshop job, just realize that many of these run some form of Microsoft Windows. This particular kiosks may be running Windows 10 LTSB (Long-Term Servicing Branch), which is designed for corporate users.
Unfortunately, you’ll have to strain your neck muscles to properly play the game running on this kiosk. Designer John Romero actually released two new Doom levels: E1M4b (“Phobos Mission Control”) and E1M8b (“Tech Gone Bad”) back in 2016. For the 25th anniversary of DOOM in 2018, Romero then went on to announce Sigil, an unofficial Episode Five consisting of 9 missions. Did you know that a McDonald’s training game exists on the Nintendo DS?
